A hard-to-find, creeping evergreen perennial native to our coniferous forests, Yerba buena features minty-scented delicate-looking, shiny scalloped leaves and white scented flowers. Both the leaves and flowers are edible.

Grows 3-7 in. tall and spreads up to 36 in. Grows best as a groundcover in shady sites mixed with other woodland native perennials, such as Inside-out flower/Duck-foot, and native woodland grass-like plants such as Slenderfoot Wood-sedge or Small-flowered Wood-rush.

Drought tolerant once established. An easy plant to grow in a variety of settings and soils, it attracts many pollinators, including butterflies, moths, and bees, while its strong minty scent repels deer.
