Similar to the popular ‘Zagreb’ cultivar (also in this sale), ‘Tweety’ is a newer selection that is a more bushy and compact selection that grows just 14 to 16 inches tall and wide.
Like all verticillata Tickseeds, ‘Tweety’ has a delicate ferny foliage that adds airy texture to any sunny landscape. With regular deadheading, its daisy-like lemon-yellow flowers with a gold eye bloom continuously from July into October — sometimes later!
These golden-hued Tickseeds are terrific when paired with Echinacea or Gaura varieties—the yellow hues of the Tickseed and pinkish hues of the others are lovely together, the bloom times are aligned, and their forms are different enough to form a striking combination in the landscape or a bigger container.
All Coreopsis require full sun, are drought tolerant, deer resistant and attract many pollinators for months. They are known as extremely tough plants which adapt to both dry and moist growing conditions, but actually thrive in poor soils.
