Gaura lindheimeri 'Passionate Blush' (Passionate Blush Beeblossom) (1 gal)

Sold Out (Use Waitlist)

If your sunny garden space is limited, ‘Passionate Blush’ is one of the most compact varieties — growing just 12 to 18 inches tall by 16 to 20 inches wide — with a much denser habit than is typical for the genus.  It has a very tidy appearance in the garden.

'Passionate Blush' offers abundant, prolific, and long-blooming medium-pink blooms, held aloft on burgundy-red stems over deep-green and occasionally-burgundy foliage that turns red in fall.

Its long bloom time — early summer into fall — makes it an excellent choice for containers and cut flowers, as shearing old flowers promotes the formation of new ones. The long bloom time also supports many pollinators and beneficial insects over the course of the growing season.

Gaura needs plenty of sun and soils with good drainage (actually preferring poor soil, as its stems will flop in rich soil!), and is very drought tolerant and deer resistant once established. These are the same conditions as the Threadleaf Tickseeds (Coreopsis, also in this sale), and the two species are a knockout combination in a sunny space! [Note: Plants purchased in the fall sale will have been sheared back for winter and strong spring emergence.]
