Bring the mountains home to your landscape! This perennial wildflower has small, long, tubular blue-purple flowers blooming on 2-8 inch flower stalks above dainty, 2-6 inch tufts of prostrate/low-growing, tidy foliage. Perfect for rock gardens or popping into crevices in hot, exposed parts of your landscape, or framing the front of a sunny border.

Due to its home in alpine locations in the Cascades and Olympics, it prefers sun and dry, rocky soils and is appropriate for rock gardens. The plant expands with creeping woody stems, and therefore hates being contained in a pot but delights in the freedom of the landscape!

Attracts bees and butterflies and is deer resistant. Drought tolerant once established—don’t overwater, as it prefers a lean soil and sharp drainage.
