The bluish fruits are enjoyed by birds and mammals (including people!), and its pretty lobed leaves offer pinkish-orange fall color.

It can be maintain over time at a size of about 6-8 ft. tall in a vase-shaped form, with an ample canopy. Left unpruned, in 15-20 years the canopy spread can be over 10 feet wide, with a height of 8-10 ft. high. That said, many lovely smaller shrubs and perennials grow in the eventual part-shade provided by a mature Red-flowering Currant.

Best in full to part sun and tolerant of a variety of soils, even clay.
