(NOTE: Site locations will be emailed in advance to everyone registered.)
We are awaiting word on a possible new plant salvage location. Most likely, we will meet at our previous location at 4300 Capitol Blvd SE, Tumwater; however, we are seeking permission for a site near Willamette Dr. NE & 31st Ave NE in Lacey. We will know for sure in a few days and will let you know – and provide all other details – at that time. Thanks for your patience!
One new, important piece of information: We always welcome you to dig plants for your own home naturescaping, green stormwater, or restoration project. However, we ask in return that you support our efforts by committing to at least one hour for potting up plants at the NPSF nursery after 1 p.m. Finding and coordinating salvage sites and events takes considerable time for our staff and lead volunteers, yet we always find ourselves significantly short-handed for the afternoon work. Not only is it fun, with great camaraderie, but you’ll have the chance to learn a lot from our experienced volunteer leaders!
So, whether you plan to salvage plants for your own projects, or you just want to learn more about plant propagation and care, we hope you’ll join us for at least part of the afternoon!
The plants we are able to take are cared for at NPSF nursery and eventually used by NPSP, Thurston Co. Steam Team, and other community groups to restore habitat and improve water quality in and around Thurston County.
