Pennisetum alopecuroides 'Redhead' (Red Fountain Grass)
In early summer this ornamental grass begins to show huge, bottlebrush red-violet plumes that become smoky purple then silver in the fall. The leaves begin as yellow-green but turn yellow and orange late in the season for fall color. Grows 3-4' H by 30'' W in normal to sandy soil and in sun to part shade. Plants can tolerate heat, drought and intense sun once established. Great in cut and dried flower arrangements. Deer resistant.
