Erigeron speciosus (Showy Fleabane)

$0.00

One of our most glorious native perennials, small flowers of lavender petals with yellow centers cover the plant from spring through mid-summer, sometimes re-blooming in fall. Long stems bear several showy, 2-in.-wide purple/blue aster like flower heads, attracting many pollinators.

Native to our South Salish prairies, it thrives in full sun to a bit of shade, and is OK with many soils, including clay, as long as there is some drainage. Shear back the spent blooms to inspire a fresh flush of flowers as the season progresses.

Over winter, the seedheads create textural and structural interest and support beneficial insects.
