Caryopteris x clandoniensis 'Dark Knight', (Dark Knight Caryopteris)

Sold Out (Use Waitlist)

Caryopteris is a terrific semi-woody subshrub that features showy deep blue-purple flowers in late summer and fall when there is less color in the garden and fewer sources of nectar for cruising hummingbirds and other pollinators. The flowers are complemented by compact, mounding gray-green foliage.

The ‘Dark Knight’ cultivar is such a tried-and-true choice selection that it has been named a “Great Plant Pick” for the PNW. This cultivar grows about 2-4 ft high and wide, though it can be cut back annually after danger of frost to promote flowering on new growth. Caryopteris is very drought tolerant once established and prefers conditions similar to lavenders: full sun and well-drained soils.

While it provides habitat for bees, butterflies, and hummingbirds, it is considered deer and rabbit resistant.
