Erigeron s. 'Darkest of All' (Darkest of All Fleabane) 1 gal
This is a darker-hued cultivar of our native prairie perennial, offering dark violet-blue blooms atop deciduous foliage. Stems are unbranched with a cluster of daisy-like flowers with yellow centers that bloom in late spring to late-summer, and make nice cut-flower arrangements. Dead-heading increases bloom time, and it can gently self sow. This selection grows 24-28 in. tall in a gently spreading clump 18-24 in. wide.
A full-sun prairie plant, it will also tolerate partial sun, but don't let it get shaded out. Tolerates most soils, but is native to soils with good drainage and is very drought tolerant once established. This perennial supports butterflies, bees, beneficial insects and repels deer.
Plant with other native and water-wise perennials and ornamental grasses for a lovely prairie-like or cottage garden effect!
