This is an award-winning hardy fuchsia cultivar beloved for many attributes, including vigorous dark-green foliage topped by delightful single tubular primarily pale-pink blooms that are great magnets for bees, hummingbirds, and other pollinators.

Hardy fuchsias are part shrub, part herbaceous perennial, and this variety can grow pretty large: about 30-48 inches tall and wide, with a robust upright and very full, bushy form. For the most success, plant this hardy fuchsia with protection from harsh winter winds, in soils with decent drainage, and with a layer of protective woodchip mulch.

Over time, you can reduce the summer watering of this plant, especially if you plant it in partial shade, where its water needs will be lessened. Give it deep, infrequent watering for the first few years as it develops a more resilient root system, but keep an eye on it during times of extreme heat, even after it has become tolerant of drought.

In early spring, watch for signs of the new growth emerging, and then gently cut back any woody parts that seem dead (being mindful not to harm the fragile new shoots).

This cultivar produces flowers from summer to frost, supporting pollinators when late-season nectar is scarce.
