This water-wise Lupine cultivar offers colors that blend with just about any other plant in your sunny landscape. The flower spikes grow up to 18 inches tall and are typically creamy pale yellow but occasionally brighter or even pale pink mixed with yellow or white. The foliage of blue-green palmate leaves re-emerges in spring in lush swaths, followed by the flowers in early to mid-summer.

The flowers will bring in the hummingbirds, bees, and other pollinators, but you will likely want to cut a few for stunning indoor flower arrangements.

Lupines require full sun and perform best in lean, well-draining soils without too much organic matter (don’t amend the soils with compost). Otherwise, these can be planted just about anywhere, including on slopes, and each plant will gently spread over time to form a cluster of about 2 ft. wide.

Mix this with other sun-loving water-wise and native perennials for a delightful display of ongoing color in your summer landscape.
